I Finished My 50th Book of 2023 and It’s Only August!

Every year like any good reader does, I set reading goals for myself. Sometimes I exceed them and sometimes life gets busy and I fall a little bit short of how many books I wish I would’ve read. So when 2023 rolled around my only goal was to read 30 books. With a busy academic schedule, a job, and other hobbies I’m passionate about, reading 75 books seemed like a stretch. Once I finished my 25th book at the end of April I knew I was in for a record reading year. The year is 2/3rds over and today marks a celebration of a reading milestone for me-my 50th book being complete! My 2023 book goal is now 75 books and who knows, I might just surpass that too.

My 50th book of 2023 was about Princess Diana also known as Lady Di. It’s titled The Lady Di Look Book by Eloise Moran. I loved seeing Diana’s style of the 1980’s and 1990’s. Many of her outfits were timeless and some of the trendy pieces would even be back in style today as everything in fashion comes, goes, and eventually comes back in style again. I think it’s great that Lady Di wrote her own rules and wasn’t afraid to break the Royal’s dress code by wearing black and wearing revenge dresses. Everybody needs to write their own rules on how to live for themselves. She was truly an inspiration for that. The book extended beyond just talking about her style, but also mentioned Prince Charles, Camilla, her children, the charities she helped, and how she truly connected with people on a very deep level. All of this is what made her the people’s Princess. I only wish she was sitting on the throne today as Queen instead of that Cruella, I mean Camilla. Nonetheless she still remains in so many people’s heart and her legacy will live on forever.
