Old Niagara Bookshop
I visited the Old Niagara Bookshop recently that is located at Niagara-on-the-Lake in Ontario, Canada. The sweet old lady running the bookshop has been running it since 1969. I love the local selection of unique books offered. Their are many local Niagara-on-the-Lake books, Canadian history, and Niagara Falls books you can find. I found a unique local book titled Making Her Mark: The Women of Niagara-on-the-Lake published by the Niagara Historical Society. It is a delightful book filled with stories and pictures of notable women who have helped shape and made Niagara-on-the-Lake what it is today. It features over forty women, each with a unique story. This is a book I wouldn’t be able to find in a local bookshop back at home. This is the reason why I love shopping and supporting local bookstores when I travel. When I buy a unique book on my travels, I am taking a piece of that trip home with me and learning more about that place than I did when I first visited.
